Inventory
Inventory as a ledger for D2C brands
A stock number that anyone can type over is not a stock system. Enablr One records each change as a transaction and keeps the quantity that results.
Where D2C stock actually moves
Units leave for Amazon FBA, a dark store, your own website, and a retail counter. They also come back as returns, or they sit damaged. A single warehouse balance hides which of those things happened.
The inventory design covers warehouses, on-hand, in-transit, reserved, and damaged quantities, plus batch, lot, and expiry where the product needs them. A transfer is its own document, not an edit on two cells.
Receipts have to match what was ordered
A goods receipt should point at the purchase order line. Short receipts and extras stay visible, because the vendor invoice will not match a quietly edited quantity.
Reorder level and stock cover are reports on that ledger. They are useful only when the receipts and the orders are the same units.
Valuation without a second stock book
Inventory value is a consequence of quantity and cost, stored as decimal amounts with a currency. The company default for an Indian brand is INR, stored on the company, not hard-coded into a report.
The inventory module itself is a later phase. The rules above are the ones it will be built to, so a brand evaluating Enablr One can see how stock will behave.
